Shopify Web Design & Dev.

Hero section of the mikensho website

For Mikensho, I designed and developed an experimental e-commerce experience that reflects the brand’s mix of 80s soul, disco, Japanese culture, and Egyptian ward balady aesthetics. I first developed the visual direction and website layout in Figma, experimenting with typography, composition, imagery, and interactions before translating the design into Shopify using the Framer theme as a foundation.

Since the theme had several limitations and bugs, I used custom code to fix and refine the mega menu and header, reshape buttons, adjust slider spacing and padding, and fine-tune other elements to better match the original Figma design. I also helped the brand manager set up online payments, making the store ready for actual e-commerce. Finally, I improved the site’s SEO by optimizing its metadata with AI-assisted research and optimizing the website’s images for better performance and loading times.
